Lets XNA on the phone!

Abstract:
It’s true! We can have a lot of fun building great games with XNA on the new Windows Phone 7 platform!! We will see how easy it is to build a very simple game from scratch using the emulator and then turn it into a lots of hours of playing fun on your phone after deploying to a WP7 device. Topics covered: Creating art using Paint.Net, creating sound, using accelerometer etc. A brief overview will be provided of the app/game submission process and we will also take a peek at some new Mango features. Time permitting, we will cover the support for sound in Windows Phone 7. Hope you enjoy!

Speaker Bio:
Parag Joshi (@ilovethexbox ) is an independent consultant and has over 13 years software development experience working on various Microsoft based technologies. He has been developing on .NET since the first beta. He is an active member of the Cincinnati .NET User Group (@CINNUG) and runs an XNA Linked-In User Group at http://LetsXNA.org with support from CINNUG. With the new Windows Phone 7 ecosystem, he is busy developing Windows Phone XNA games for his 7 year old son and getting advanced input from his 15 month old daughter. What’s next with Windows Phone & how Azure plays a role.

Abstract:
In this session, we take a brief look at some of the upcoming Windows Phone 7 enhancements in the next release codenamed “Mango” — what’s in it for the user & the developers. This will be more of a curtain-raiser with much more in-depth Mango sessions to follow. Next, we take a quick deep-dive to see how Windows Azure & WP7 play together. Hope you enjoy!

Samidip Basu (@samidip) is a technologist & gadget lover working as a Manager & Solutions Lead for Sogeti out of the Columbus Unit. Having worked on WP7 since CTP days, he now spends much of his time in spreading the word to discover the full potential of the Windows Phone platform & cloud-based mobile solutions in general.
